A good example of an officers cap. Looks like it was well used but is complete with no damage. The cap badge is a typical RA OSD badge as expected on an officers cap, however the buttons are Royal Ulster Rifles, the badge and buttons appear to have always been on this cap. Only explanation I can find is the 8th battalion RUR where converted into the 117th light anti anti aircraft RA in 1942 seeing service towards the end of the North Africa campaign. Through into Italy. They where allowed to retain some of their traditions as a rifles unit, including some insignia.
