A very interesting WW2 Italy star medal grouping including photos, letters, books and ephemera. Pte. Cyril John Gregory, 7th battalion Cheshire regiment (globe trotters). Cyril served with Central Mediterranean force from Sicily until injured and hospitalised just before monte casino. Extensive group with photos of soldier, letters during his and hospitalisation to and from his mum and friends, original casualty notification to his family. The medals are unworn and boxed, there is also a book on soldiering and a service bible. Cyril was a milkman before and after the war and was fined post war for unauthorised milk sales. There are loads of letters to military pensions as he had lost 40% of the use of his injured leg and appeared locked in a battle to get what he was due.
