An excellent condition Royal Navy Officers sword, complete with knot, belt and hangers all in excellent condition, this is the 1827 pattern the sword it is not retail marked but has a number on the spine and a letter B on the opposite spine, the proof is of the type with no brass plug, I suspect it’s retailed by Alfred Shannon of Devonport who traded until 1919, as I have seen similar proof marks and numbers on there retail swords, plus the belt bears there mark on the under side of the buckle. I am not sure who made the sword but it will be one of the quality makers if they took the trouble to number it. The scabbard is also in excellent condition with no issues to the leather or brass fittings. Overall a hard to upgrade sword.
