An unusual and rare find, consisting of a Mons star trio RFA and pair to ASC, both groups issued to Arthur Alexander Miller born approx 1879 from Acton, Middlesex, serving with the RFA and entitled to QSA 6 bars and a KSA. After the Boer war he was sent to India, he was transferred to army reserve in 1906 and was called up for WW1 earning a Mons star trio, he was released from service again in late 1915 and signed back up into the ASC in early 1916 where his trade was a rough rider with the ASC remounts, basically breaking horses for military service.
There is original paper work in a wallet for both RFA and ASC, both have same name and addresses plus DOB, The ASC sevice records which I obtained digitally actually quote his RFA service number under previous military service. So 100% concrete proof both sets of medals are to the same man. There is 20 plus pages of digital research.
It’s interesting that he was serving with the remounts as a rough rider as it’s scarce Trade to find. Can’t be many duplicate in error groups like this around bearing in mind they’re not simply reissued.
The medals come with original wallet from the war department with original waxed parchment type paper and a post card sent to his children for Christmas.
