A nice condition V-44 fighting knife, made by case xx, this example has the initials WB scratched into the front of the scabbard and a service number to the rear. These attribute the knife to William George Bright of Baltimore, Maryland, USA. Who was drafted into the US army in 1942. I have not found out the Unit he was attached to as yet. But assume he served in the Pacific as these knives don’t appear to have seen use in Europe or North Africa during WW2.
