This is a very nice cigarette case made from aircraft aluminium by Italian POWs during WW2 in North Africa or so the story goes, I personally believe them to be bazaar items. This one is probably unique as they normally depict mosques, occasionally ships or regiment badges, but this example depicts a tall Scottish soldier kissing his sweetheart under a lamppost and judging by the buildings behind that look like tenements typically of Glasgow. This was probably a Taylor made example for the soldier. The rear shows Africa, Egypt and the date 1947, inside shows typical decoration of pyramids etc. complete with elastic retainer for cigarettes, in overall excellent shape. A very nice personal item.
