A nice example of a later mid Victorian period 1845 infantry officers sword (post 1878) ,made by Pillin and retailed by Marshal and co. St James street, London. The sword is named to an M Lawlor, with what looks like a Hertfordshire regiment badge, although it could be a family crest. Sword is pretty good condition for its age, has a crease to both sides of the scabbard but otherwise it’s undamaged, grip is in perfect condition, the blade has a dark consistent patina over its full length. It could be cleaned up to a near mint example but I like to leave them as found.
1845 pattern sword, named and regimentally marked to the Hertfordshire regiment.
